Overview

The Motio Application Development Framework (MotioADF) is targeted at Cognos customers who want to extend, customize, or embed the IBM Cognos 8 BI or IBM Cognos ReportNet line of products. Developed by the Cognos SDK experts at Motio, the solution enables companies to bring tailored Cognos BI solutions to market faster and more reliably than when using the raw Cognos SDK.
MotioADF provides enhanced functionality and a customized experience for organizations ultilizing Cognos BI solutions. As a result, they recognize greater utilization and adoption of their Cognos solution and reap the full benefits of this powerful BI tool.

Features

The MotioADF Toolkit layer provides a powerful, object-oriented interface on top of the Cognos SDK. Operations such as report generation, report execution, content store management, and metadata manipulation are greatly simplified using this layer.
Driven by common customer request, the MotioADF Services layer provides a rich, persistent model and implements a series of services that extend and augment the default functionality available in Cognos.
The MotioADF Web layer is a series of abstractions and building blocks that make it much easier to build custom Web applications in front of Cognos based installations. The layer also includes a powerful set of re-usable AJAX enabled, Web-based widgets that are easy to plug into custom Web applications.

The MotioADF Portal is a fully functional, end-user focused alternative to Cognos Connection. The source and build scripts for this portal are provided, making it easy to change the look and feel to fit corporate standards, add application specific screens, and tailor the end-user experience.
