Business Week Names Cognos® as One of the World’s Top 100 Information Technology Companies

Burlington, Mass., June 16, 2000—Business Week magazine, in its June 19 cover story, has recognized Cognos® (Nasdaq:COGN; TSE:CSN) as one of the world’s Top 100 Information Technology companies. Cognos, the world’s largest and most successful business intelligence company, attained a ranking of 76, behind Microsoft Corporation at 75, and was the only business intelligence software provider named to the Top 100. Selection criteria for Business Week’s Information Technology 100 included revenue growth, size, shareholder return and return on equity.

Cognos, with FY2000 revenue of $385 million and net income of $59 million, provides business intelligence software solutions that are a cornerstone of many of the world’s leading enterprise and e-business infrastructures. The company recorded business intelligence revenue growth of 42% during its FY2000.
